Time to let go...

One of the major parts of being on my spiritual path of transformation back to my true authentic self is releasing. Rather it’s releasing negative thoughts or behavioral patterns, relationships that no longer serve me, material belongings that I didn’t need or use, my job that no longer resonated, or even certain foods. Releasing is such an important part of my journey. A lot of times releasing caused emotional pain due to the strong attachment to whatever it was that needed releasing. Because I have lived for so long thinking negatively or behaving and reacting to situations in a negative way, when I had begun to evolve and start having to release those patterns, it was very hard and painful to let go. What I needed to realize and understand is when I release and let go of anything that no longer serves me, I continue to spiritually grow on my path and find peace within myself. I received clarity and guidance and could understand what lessons I needed to learn and why letting go was so beneficial to me in the first place. I also needed to realize that every time I let something go, I make space and allow something new to come into my life.

Along my journey, I’ve had to and continue to release so much as well as simply letting things fall away on their own. Below is a list (in no particular order) of what I released over the years for me to become the person that I am today and to continue to grow on my spiritual path and journey. As long as I continue to grow and evolve, there will always be things that I may need to let go of. When what and how one person releases may differ from what and how another person releases. Although we are all connected and on this journey of transformation together, there are a lot of common things that we all tend to release along our journey at one point or another. Hopefully sharing my list will help someone who is now in the beginning process of releasing on their journey and finding it hard and difficult to navigate through.

  • Drinking Alcohol

  • Meat

  • Candy/Soda

  • Fast food

  • Spicy foods

  • Greasy foods

  • Milk/Dairy products

  • Juice/Artificial flavors

  • Material possessions (purses, shoes, clothes, household items) that I no longer used or needed

  • Codependency issues

  • Negative thought patterns (low self-esteem, worthiness, victim mentality)

  • Emotional attachments (Soul mate connection, foods, habits)

  • Anger issues

  • Resistance towards change

  • Karmic relationships/patterns relationship patterns around patience and value

  • Resentment and feeling guilty towards myself and others

  • Social groups (parties, hangouts that involve drinking)

  • Meaningless conversations (negative gossip)

  • Watching TV for hours at a time

  • Violent movies or television shows

  • Unnecessary stress

  • Expectations Not trusting in (God, divine timing, Source, the unfolding of my life)

Note:

Although releasing is a major part of our spiritual journey and becoming the best version of ourselves, healing and releasing happens in cycles. You may find that some things completely leave your life and some you have to release over and over again... and that's ok. It's all part of the process.
